UPDATE: Despite life-saving measures, motorcyclist pronounced dead after crash in Langley

UPDATE 8:50 P.M. FRIDAY NIGHT: Mounties in Langley have now confirmed that a motorcyclist died following a motor vehicle collision at 224 Street and 56 Avenue in Langley.

According to a statement from Langley RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, Langley RCMP responded to a collision at 3:15 p.m. on Friday afternoon, Sept. 5., involving a motorcycle vs. a sedan. Despite life-saving efforts, the motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries sustained in the crash.

“Incidents such as this have a profound impact on families, first responders, and the community,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. “We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.”
Road closures were in effect in the immediate area for several hours and were re-opened to regular traffic around 8 p.m.
Investigators are seeking witnesses to the collision. Individuals who were in the area at the time, and in particular those with dash camera footage, are asked to contact Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and reference file number 2025-29352.

LANGLEY — RCMP in Langley are now seeking information on a serious collision that took place Friday afternoon (Sep. 5).

At around 3:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash near 224 Street and 56 Avenue.

“The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called to the scene to assist with this investigation,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP.

“Road closures are in effect in the immediate area, and motorists are asked to avoid the area. Motorists can expect disruptions to last several hours.”

Corporal Dave Noon with ICARS shared a post saying the incident involved a motorcycle.

The intersection has since been closed to both directions while police investigate.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, especially those with dashcam footage, is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file number 2025-29352.
