ABBOTSFORD — B.C.’s homicide investigation team says four people have been charged with murder after the death of an Abbotsford man in early February.

On January 27, the Abbotsford Police Department responded to reports of a man being assaulted before being taken and driven away.

The 19-year-old victim was later found in the Crescent Beach area of Surrey with severe injuries. He succumbed to his wounds at the hospital on February 1, at which point the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over.

Over the past six months, IHIT has worked with a number of partners, including police from Abbotsford, Surrey and Winnipeg, to move forward with the investigation.

“IHIT would like to thank all our partners for their support and assistance with this investigation,” said Cpl. Sukhi Dhesi of IHIT.

Prosecutors laid first-degree murder charges and forcible confinement against these four men:

  • Ravdeep Gill, 21, in Winnipeg
  • Harmandeep Gill, 26, in Brampton
  • Jaskaran Singh, 20, in Surrey
  • Bipanpreet Singh, 22, in Surrey

IHIT added that 19-year-old Abbotsford resident Inderpreet Khosa was also charged with forcible confinement in relation to this incident.

Initial findings showed that the murder was a targeted event and was not gang-related.
