Chilliwack Fire quickly puts out 9th-floor blaze in downtown apartment

CHILLIWACK — Firefighters quickly wrangled a blaze at an 11-storey apartment building in downtown Chilliwack.
At around 5 p.m. Saturday (May 3), crews were called out to the Camelot Apartments in the 9100 block of Mary Street. Smoke billowed from the balcony of one unit on the 9th floor as residents evacuated the building.
By 5:15 p.m., all visible flames were extinguished, and venting commenced to remove any remaining heat and smoke from the unit.
