1 injured after early morning shooting in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK — RCMP has been on scene in the Princess Ave. and Williams St. area all morning for a report of shots being fired.

Just before 1:00 a.m. today (Mar. 21), Chilliwack RCMP and Police Dog Services responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Princess Ave. and Williams St.

A man with serious injuries has been transported to hospital.

“They have the house on the corner surrounded by caution tape now with a couple of cop cars,” said Chilliwack resident Olivia Robbins. “I drove past again [at about 11 a.m.].”

The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial findings suggest this is a targeted incident and there is no further risk to public safety.

The public can expect continued police presence in the area as Chilliwack RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit leads the investigation.
