Police renew plea to ID sexual assault suspect after rash of alleged groping incidents
NORTH VANCOUVER — Mounties in North Vancouver are issuing a new advisory as they seek to identify an alleged sexual assault suspect with newly obtained video.
According to a statement from North Vancouver RCMP, police advised the public on November 2 about three sexual assaults that occurred in the Lower Lonsdale area. Police say a fourth victim has since come forward after seeing the media release, alleging that she too was groped from behind by a man riding an electronic bike on July 22. A witness was able to obtain cell phone video of the suspect fleeing the area.
Investigators are releasing that video and a still image of the suspect in hopes that someone may recognize him. That ink can be found here: https://bit.ly/3ARX2Jt.
Police say they are investigating a fifth incident of groping that occurred on November 14 near West Keith Road and Chesterfield Avenue where a female pedestrian was groped by a man from behind. The suspect in this incident is described as approximately 6 feet tall, brown skin tone, hairy legs, wearing a black sweater with white logo on the front left corner and black shorts.
