ABBOTSFORD — A 42-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle collision early Friday morning at the intersection of Mt. Lehman Road and Marshall Road Extension in Abbotsford.

Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) officers responded to the scene at approximately 6:53 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash. Upon arrival, they discovered a pickup truck in a ditch. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, appeared to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man could not recover from his injuries. His identity has not been released.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. AbbyPD officers are working alongside the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service to gather evidence and determine the factors that led to the crash.

As a result, Marshall Road Extension between Peardonville Road and Mt. Lehman Road will remain closed for much of the day. Commuters should find alternative routes.

Authorities are urging anyone with dashcam footage or information related to the incident to come forward. Witnesses are asked to contact AbbyPD at 604-864-5225.
