Traffic pattern changes along Highway 1 in Langley begin tonight

LANGLEY – Traffic pattern changes are set to take effect tonight on Highway 1 between 248 Street and Glover Road in Langley.

The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Transit says westbound Highway 1 lane diversions will begin at 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening, July 9, and last until 5 a.m. Friday morning, to implement a highway crossover that will allow traffic to travel in both directions in the eastbound highway lanes. During this diversion, both the westbound on- and off-ramps at 232 Street will be closed.

Starting Friday, July 10, until mid-September, an on-ramp configuration change will require a lane-pattern shift at the 232nd Street bridge. The new westbound on-ramp configuration from 232nd Street will bring a lane pattern shift for westbound Highway 1 drivers at the bridge.

The province says these traffic pattern changes are necessary to allow crews to install drainage infrastructure and other improvements on Highway 1. This work is a key component of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program.
