Chilliwack Chiefs drop shootout decision in Coquitlam

COQUITLAM — Grady Lenton scored the only goal of the shootout to give the Coquitlam Express a 2 – 1 victory over the Chilliwack Chiefs Friday (Feb. 9) in Coquitlam.

Adam Manji played a starring role in the game for the Express, stopping 39 of 40 shots through three periods and the ten minute overtime. And then Manji stopped three shootout attempts by the Chiefs to preserve the win.

Manji was working on a shutout until Brian Morse put Chilliwack on the board with just 1:42 remaining in the third period.

Vladimir Nikitin was sharp in the Chiefs net. He was only beaten once through regulation time and the overtime period, facing 28 shots.
