One dead in Surrey sudden death: one in custody

SURREY — A 57-year-old man is dead and a 42-year-old man is in custody following an incident late Sunday morning in Surrey.

RCMP were called to a home by members of the Surrey Fire Department who had lodged a complaint of a sudden death late Sunday morning.

Frontline officers were joined by members of the Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has since been called in to work on the case in partnership with Surrey RCMP.

Police are not releasing any further information on the case at this point, saying officers are in the process of collecting evidence.
