Mission RCMP investigates hit and run of cyclist on Lougheed Highway
MISSION — Mounties in Mission are investigating an incident in which a cyclist was struck by a vehicle and the responsible driver fled the scene.
On Wednesday, August 16, at just after 10 p.m., Mission RCMP received a report of a hit and run collision in the 32000 block of Lougheed Highway. Mission RCMP, as well as BC Emergency Health Services, attended and located a cyclist who had been struck by a vehicle which had fled the scene. The cyclist was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic was interrupted for several hours as the RCMP Collision and Reconstruction Service attended to examine the scene.
The vehicle involved was described as a dark coloured Ford Crown Victoria, the vehicle has since been recovered by police and the investigation is ongoing.
