CHILLIWACK — Book lovers and bargain hunters are in for a treat next week.

The Rotary Club of Chilliwack will hold its 4th annual one-day book sale next Saturday, August 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Rotary building at 44870 Wolfe Road, between Townsend Park and the municipal water treatment plant.

Rotary Club of Chilliwack wrote on Facebook that the event will be weather permitting, so they’re hoping there’s plenty of sun.

Rotary says there will be over 40,000 books, comics, CDs, DVDs and records with most priced from $1 to $5. Patrons are sure to love the tax-free deals.

All proceeds raised support Rotary projects such as the Rotary Trail, scholarships for Chilliwack students, “Feed the Kids” program and other community initiatives.

Patrons are kindly asked to keep pets at home so that everyone can enjoy the event, and to not bring donations on the day of the sale.

Rotary relies on the community of Chilliwack for donations of reading materials. Throughout the year, a dedicated team of Rotarians, friends and community members sort the donated books. Rotary members say are very thankful for the generosity of the Chilliwack community.

Cash, debit or credit are all gladly accepted, but please don’t bring cheques or expect to use e-transfers at the book sale.
