Hope Fire Department rushes to semi truck fire on Hwy. 3 Sunday night
HOPE — The Hope Fire Department was called to extinguish a semi truck on fire on Highway 3 Sunday night in Hope.
According to a social media post from the department, Hope firefighters were dispatched at 10:02 p.m. Sunday night (August 13) for reports of a big rig on fire with flames extending into the brush near exit 173.
On arrival, crews discovered a tractor trailer on the shoulder of Highway 3. The tractor was fully engulfed with fire extending into the trailer and into the grass on both sides of the highway.
The Hope Fire Department said in a statement the fire was quickly knocked down and no injuries were reported. Nine firefighters responded to the scene and were cleared at approximately 11:50 p.m.
