CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack Chiefs have announced the signing of Elliot Dutil, a member of the reigning Centennial Cup champion Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League last season.

The skilled 2003-born forward had 29 goals and 30 assists in 57 regular season games with the Bandits last year. A year earlier, the Montreal-born player tallied 67 points in 58 games with the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

“Last year, our young team grew and did a lot of good things throughout the season, but the one area that we struggled in was scoring those timely goals. Elliot will help in this department,” said Chiefs Head Coach and General Manager Brian Maloney. “Not only does he put the puck in the back of the net, but it’s how he does it. That’s through 100% effort and playing the game the right way. We’re excited to add Elliot to our deep roster.”

“The Chiefs have a long tradition of developing players and competing for the ultimate prize. I look forward to meeting my new teammates, coaches, and community and leaving it all out on the ice,” said Dutil.

Dutil has committed to play U.S. College hockey following his final season of junior hockey in Canada. Dutil is set to join Division 1 Lindenwood University in the fall of 2024.

“We had a chance to add an experienced goal scorer that’s coming from a winning organization with the Bandits. Elliot has proven that he can produce at the Junior A level. Now he wants to try and challenge himself by taking his talents to the BCHL,” said Maloney.
