Transit service returns today to Fraser Valley
CHILLIWACK — Following a strike that lasted over four months, transit service finally returned to the Fraser Valley Sunday (Aug. 6). Busses are rolling through Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Mission and all other communities affected by the lengthy labour dispute.
While handyDart operations have been underway for a number of days, more traditional busses resume operating today. And they will be offering free rides through the end of August.
Riders can check updated schedules through the BC Transit Rider’s Guide or by visiting the website of their local transit system: bctransit.com/agassiz-harrison; bctransit.com/central-fraser-valley; bctransit.com/chilliwack; and bctransit.com/hope.
The free rides have been arranged through a partnership with local governments across the region, in an effort to help riders return to their previous transit use habits.
