Alcohol could be a factor in crash caused by motorist who fled: Chilliwack RCMP
CHILLIWACK — A media relations spokesperson for the Upper Fraser Fraser Valley Detachment in Chilliwack says alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in Saturday’s motor vehicle collision on Chilliwack Lake Road in which a motorcyclist fled the scene and was arrested approximately an hour later by Mounties.
Corporal Martin Godard, spokesperson for the RCMP, wrote in an email Wednesday (May 31) that a 22-year-old male was arrested in the early evening hours of Saturday, May 27 after leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision.
“Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the initial collision,” Cpl. Godard said.
The Chilliwack RCMP Municipal Traffic section has conduct of this active investigation, Cpl. Godard said.
