Abbotsford Police make an arrest after a reported indecent act at Elwood Park

ABBOTSFORD — A 56-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly committing an indecent act in Elwood Park Wednesday (May 3).

At approximately 9:36 a.m., Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers received a call from a woman reporting an indecent act in progress at Elwood Park on Maclure Road. The caller stated a man had been exposing himself to individuals in the park.

In a news release, Abbotsford police say officers arrived at the park shortly after the call and spotted a suspect in the bushes and witnessed him allegedly performing another indecent act. The suspect tried to make a run for it but was captured by officers and arrested.

Richard Renning of Abbotsford has been charged with committing an indecent act in a public place and is in police custody awaiting his next court appearance.
