Valley Huskers announce commitment of G.W. Graham senior linebacker
CHILLIWACK — The Valley Huskers football club in Chilliwack announced this week that G.W. Graham senior linebacker Aiden Parks, who played in all 12 games during the Grizzlies’ memorable run to the provincial championship in 2022, has committed to play for them.
Parks, a 6-foot, 210-pound middle and outside linebacker, was the fifth-leading tackler on a G.W. team that had an outstanding defensive squad. He had 26 tackles on defence, including seven that were for loss of yards, nine additional tackles on special teams, three broken-up passes, two forced fumbles, and his epic game-saving, tipped pass in overtime of the playoff thriller against South Delta that sent the Grizzlies to B.C. Place for the finals.
“Since Aiden got here 4 years ago, he has been a leader on and off the field, doing all the things expected of an excellent teammate,” said G.W. Graham head football coach Luke Acheson. “His football IQ is one of the highest on the team, and he is constantly helping other players to be better.”
Aiden was a co-winner of the Coaches Award for the 2022 season, receiving his award at a banquet on March 5. Defensive coordinator Ian Parks, Aiden’s father, who has been steadfast in supplying Chilliwack-area media with quotes, stats and other information, joked that he was unavailable for comment because he was busy reminding Aiden to do his homework.
