Woman, 91 years old, prevents man from stealing her purse in Abbotsford church parking lot
ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford Police said Wednesday (Feb. 22) they are investigating an attempted purse snatching that happened in a church parking lot last week.
According to Sgt. Paul Walker, media relations spokesperson for the Abbotsford Police Department, patrol officers responded to the 2700 block of Clearbrook Road on Tuesday, February 14 at 3:13 p.m. for the report of an attempted purse snatching.
A 91-year-old female victim was walking through a church parking lot utilizing her walker when an unknown man attempted to steal her purse. During the incident, the victim fell to the ground while preventing the suspect from stealing her purse. The victim did require medical treatment for her non-life-threatening injuries, Sgt. Walker said.
The suspect is described as a tall Caucasian male wearing a black jacket and black pants. Abbotsford PD patrol officers continue to investigate this incident and are working on identifying the suspect from video in the area.
