Local children’s author to hold book signing at Chilliwack bookstore

CHILLIWACK – Local children’s author and early childhood educator Alisha Mehan plans to visit Chilliwack later this month for a book signing featuring her children’s book, Rylan’s Big Feelings, about the wide range of emotions children experience.

The Book Man, located at 45939 Wellington Avenue in downtown Chilliwack, will host Mehan on Saturday, October 24 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for a special pop-up event.

Created for young children, Rylan’s Big Feelings explores the emotions children experience in everyday moments at school, home, and play. The story empowers children to recognize, understand, and talk about their feelings in a simple and relatable way.

As an early childhood educator, Mehan says she has seen firsthand how important it is for young children to have language and tools to express their emotions. Her inspiration for the book came from her desire to create a story that families and educators could use to help children talk about their own big feelings.
