B.C. govt. contributing $62.3 million toward UFV student housing project
ABBOTSFORD — The B.C. government will contribute $62.3 million toward a six-storey student housing project that is expected to break ground this fall on the University of the Fraser Valley campus in Abbotsford.
According to a news release from UFV this past week, the new student housing structure carries a price tag of $73.7 million and will include 398 beds, increasing the on-campus student accommodations to 598 beds. Completion is scheduled for fall 2025.
“The selection of these partners will advance our commitment to significantly increase student housing right here on our Abbotsford campus,” says Jackie Hogan, UFV’s Chief Financial Officer and VP of Administration.
“We’re excited to be working as a team to deliver a beautiful new building which will serve our students for many years to come.”
