BC Hydro’s online dashboard indicates the outage affecting 2,517 customers started at approximately 8:05 p.m. Friday night (Sept. 25).

BC Hydro indicates the outage occurred east of Majuba Hill Road, but their map indicates much of the Chilliwack River Valley and Cultus Lake appears to have been impacted by the outage.

There are strong winds in the Peach Park/Vedder River area (of Chilliwack) tonight.

BC Hydro’s online dashboard attributes the cause of the outage to trees down across hydro wires.

Crews have been assigned, are on their way, and should arrive by 10:10 p.m. tonight. Power is expected back on by 11:35 p.m.

BC Hydro’s website was last updated at 9:14 p.m.

Over in Hope, nearly 800 customers have been without power since 8:47 a.m. Friday morning, Sept. 25. The cause there has been attributed to a downed wire (singular, not plural).
