Chilliwack RCMP locate impaired driver with 3 children in her vehicle

As a result, an immediate roadside prohibition was issued and the vehicle was impounded.

The children were safely transported to an appropriate location, Cpl. Kiener said.

A wanted man was arrested after damaging surveillance cameras at a property on Chilliwack Lake Road. RCMP officers responded to a report of a possible break and enter on Chilliwack Lake Road after live video footage captured a man damaging surveillance cameras on the property. With the assistance of Police Dog Services, officers attended and located the suspect hiding nearby who was subsequently arrested. Cpl. Kiener said no entry was gained to any structures on the property, but the man was found in possession of a weapon which ran contrary to the conditions of his probation officers. Officers also learned that he was wanted on outstanding warrants from another jurisdiction. The man was held in custody for court.

An officer observed an electric motorcycle being operated on one wheel along South Sumas Road. The rider failed to stop for police, abandoned the bike, and fled on foot. The rider later returned to the location of the bike and was met by the officer. Violation tickets totaling nearly $1,000 were issued to the rider for driving without due care, failing to stop for police, and failing to produce a driver’s licence. Cpl. Kiener said the bike was registered for off-road use only and was not permitted on roadways.
