Chilliwack RCMP locate impaired driver with 3 children in her vehicle
CHILLIWACK – Police in Chilliwack say a motorist with three children under the age of 16 in her vehicle failed a pair of roadside breath tests during a traffic stop last week.
According to a recap compiled by RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener for the week of Monday, Sept. 7 through Sunday, Sept. 13, an RCMP member conducting patrols saw a woman enter her vehicle that had been parked on Yale Road. Police say the woman was not steady on her feet as she got into her car. The exact location on Yale Road was not revealed.
As the female motorist drove away, the vehicle failed to maintain its lane. Police initiated a traffic stop and an RCMP member noticed signs of intoxication on the driver.
Three children under the age of 16 were also located inside the vehicle. Cpl. Kiener said the woman failed two roadside breath tests.
