Hope residents gear up for spooky season with 2nd annual paddling event

HOPE — A group of residents is brewing something magical on Kawkawa Lake this October.

Witches & Warlocks is back for its second year after a successful inaugural run in 2025.

Hope local John Fillmore first brought the idea to life after a simple Facebook group discussion, and this year, Fillmore is set to organize the event again with local businesses, community groups and food trucks in attendance.

“It is a wonderfully unusual visual story, but also a great example of what can happen when people in the community want fun things to happen and make them happen,” said Kaja Figlarska with Tourism Hope Cascades and Canyons.
