SURREY — B.C.’s police watchdog is now investigating after an attempted police stop led to a cascade of events that injured two people early Monday morning (Sept. 7).

According to information from the Surrey Police Service to the IIO, at around 3 a.m., officers tried to pull over a black Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck near the intersection of King George Boulevard and 96 Avenue when the truck and police vehicle collided.

The truck then did not stop and, shortly after, crashed into a concrete SkyTrain barrier on King George Boulevard at Holland Commons, injuring the driver.

A pedestrian was also found on scene with serious injuries.
