There was no required qualified supervisor with the Class 7 learner driver, and the vehicle did not have the mandatory “L” sign.

“Unsafe driving behaviours put everyone at risk,” AbbyPD continued. “Our teams are out there.”

The driver received three tickets for speeding, failing to obey a traffic control device and driving contrary to licence restrictions. The Jetta was also towed at their expense.

Abbotsford police have written over 4,000 violation tickets so far this year.
