Chilliwack police seek witnesses in alleged assault Sunday

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack RCMP are asking for the public’s help with an ongoing investigation into an alleged assault on Sunday, August 16.

At around 8:20 p.m., officers responded to the report of a “suspicious occurrence” in the Thornton Creek nature trail area of Promontory.

“Investigation lead police to believe an assault had occurred and several individuals who were in the area at the time may have witnessed the incident,” said Chilliwack RCMP.

The incident is believed to be isolated, and police say there is no ongoing risk to the public at this time.
