CHILLIWACK — The Metro Vancouver Regional District has issued another air quality warning today (Aug. 21) due to wildfire smoke from various parts of the province, including the complex of wildfires in Boston Bar.

The orange air quality warning is in effect in the Eastern Fraser Valley, including Chilliwack, Agassiz and Hope, with the Air Quality Health Index sitting at 10+, or very high risk, over the past hour.

Residents are asked to check in on people at higher risk, including those with chronic conditions, infants, or seniors, and to use portable HEPA air cleaners or DIY box-fan air cleaners, keeping windows and doors closed.

You can check the AQHI throughout the day as conditions can change quickly.
