The wildfire exhibited Rank 2 behaviour, not the most extreme, but still enough to attract multiple crews from both the CRVFD and BC Wildfire Service.

Chilliwack River Valley resident Derrick Kramer told Fraser Valley Today that Jim Davis, Brian Smith and him were first on scene with fire extinguishers from Post Creek.

Scanner traffic indicated the fire was mostly contained by approximately 6:15 p.m.

Derrick Kramer provided Fraser Valley Today with multiple pictures and videos from the scene.

Helicopters responded to the wildfire.

The BC Wildfire Service website said the suspected cause was under investigation. It estimated the wildfire at 0.5 hectares.

The fire is now being held, according to the latest BCWS update at 9:29 p.m.
