LANGLEY – Police in Langley now say an elderly Langley man has come forward and identified himself as being connected to a fatal pedestrian collision last month.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 16, Langley RCMP were called to a section of Fraser Highway between 232 Street and 240 Street at 4:40 a.m. where they located a pedestrian who had injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle.

First responders immediately began life-saving efforts, but the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries.

On May 16, 2026, the day of the collision, an elderly Langley man came forward to investigators and identified himself as the driver of the vehicle believed to be involved in this collision.

Since that time, investigators have continued to gather and assess evidence in relation to the incident.

“As the investigation progresses, we are working to corroborate the sequence of events that led to this tragic outcome,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP.

Investigators are now looking to identify and contact the driver of a white SUV that was observed in the area at the time of the collision.
