CULTUS LAKE – First responders were called to a reported motor vehicle rollover on Columbia Valley Highway Tuesday morning.

Cultus Lake Fire Department crews, B.C. EHS paramedics and Chilliwack RCMP units were called to Columbia Valley Highway near Parmenter Road.

A blue hatchback-type vehicle wound up in a ditch just a few feet off the southbound lane.

The accident happened at 9:43 a.m.

The Pulse Point app indicated two ambulances were dispatched.

Scanner traffic indicated the driver may have been a 25-year-old driver, but authorities have not confirmed this.

B.C. EHS spokesperson Brian Twaites said one ambulance with primary care paramedics and an advanced care paramedic response unit attended the 4300 block of Columbia Valley Road in Cultus Lake.

“Paramedics provided emergency medical care to one patient who was transported to hospital in stable condition,” said Twaites, a BCEHS paramedic public information officer.
