1 airlifted to hospital after motorcycle accident in Mission

MISSION — Residents may have heard a number of sirens fly towards a section of Dewdney Trunk Road after a serious collision this afternoon.

First responders were paged out to the area of 11749 Dewdney Trunk Road, roughly three kilometres south of the Sanitary Landfill, for a motorcycle accident at around 1:40 p.m.

BCEHS told Fraser Valley Today that one ambulance with advanced care paramedics, four ambulances with primary care paramedics and an air ambulance responded.

One patient was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Scanner traffic reported that a patient was lying on the ground and that Mission RCMP and an air ambulance were called to assist with the incident.

Reports also included “a bit of oil” on both lanes.

Witnesses at the scene say everyone involved is alive, but that the biker was taken to hospital.

Mounties closed Dewdney Trunk Road as they investigated the scene.
