Abbotsford police crack down on 60 speeding drivers Friday

ABBOTSFORD — Towing trucks had a busy day after the Abbotsford Police Department cracked down on speeding drivers heading into the weekend. 

Within 10 hours of enforcement, 13 cars were seized for excessive speed, 47 more received speeding tickets and two drivers were suspended.

“Yesterday, our Traffic Enforcement Unit hit the streets with a focus on excessive speeding,” said AbbyPD. “With the arrival of nicer weather, it seems some drivers mistakenly believe the speed limit increases along with the temperature.”

Officers also stopped one impaired driver, who received a 90-day driving ban.
