CHILLIWACK — Mounties in Chilliwack are appealing to the public for help in locating a 61-year-old man who was dropped off last week approximately 37 kms up Chilliwack Lake Road, east of the Vedder Bridge.

According to a statement from Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener, Clifford Caron was last seen at approximately 11:30 a.m. on March 6, 2026.

Corporal Kiener says Caron was dropped off by a vehicle up Chilliwack Lake Road in an area without a designated trailhead, and has not been seen or heard from since.

Mounties have been working closely with Chilliwack Search and Rescue (SAR) to conduct extensive searches in the region. Police and family remain very concerned for his well-being.

Mr. Caron is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 6’0”
  • 250 lbs
  • Grey hair
  • Brown eyes

Clifford was last seen wearing:

  • Glasses
  • Black waterproof-style jacket
  • Hat

Clifford was also carrying a small black handbag and an umbrella.

Investigators are asking anyone traveling along Chilliwack Lake Road, particularly in the 37 km area, to remain alert for any items that may have been discarded by Clifford, including clothing, the umbrella, or the black handbag.

Police are also seeking information from hikers, campers, and outdoor enthusiasts who may have been in the area and noticed anything unusual.

“Even seemingly minor observations may help advance the search,” Cpl. Kiener said.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Clifford Caron is urged to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and reference file # 2026-9289.
