Update: Outages linger, leaving over 6,700 without power in Chilliwack Thursday morning

UPDATE: Outages continue to linger in Chilliwack as of 9:38 a.m. Thursday morning. There are 20 reported outages impacting 6,796 customers as of 9:38 a.m.

One of the biggest outages in Chilliwack that still remains is south of Keith Wilson Road, east of Lumseden Road, and west of Sleepy Hollow Road, leaving 1,653 customers without power. They lost their power at 9;25 p.m. Crews have been assigned.

Another significant outage in Chilliwack is in Sardis where 1,147 customers lost power at 10:07 p.m. Crews are on site for this outage; power is expected back on by 11 a.m. this morning.

A third notable outage in Chilliwack is north of Chilliwack Central Road and west of McGrath Road, where 864 customers lost power at 9:30 p.m. Their power is expected back on any moment now.

CHILLIWACK — While BC Hydro crews are working around the clock to restore power to the eastern Fraser Valley, over 10,000 customers are still without power Thursday morning at 7:45 a.m.

According to the latest figures from BC Hydro’s online dashboard, there are 17 outages impacting 10,522 customers in Chilliwack.

There are at three outages in the District of Kent affecting 3,574 customers there, and additional outages in the outerlying areas affecting hundreds more.

Harrison Hot Springs has one outage but it’s impacting the majority of the small village as 1,728 customers remain without power as of 7:45 a.m. Thursday morning.

Hope got walloped by the fierce windstorm equally. It has 14 outages and 4,533 customers affected.

Abbotsford avoided the brunt of the storm. It only has four outages with 21 customers impacted as of Thursday morning.
