CHILLIWACK — Just days after a Chilliwack retailer selling cinnamon buns and other food was broken into, another Chilliwack bakery has been broken into.

ChrisRia Cuisine & Bakery, located at 103-8344 Young Road, says it was broken into last night.

“So sad to come to work to see this,” the small business wrote on Facebook. “We barely just opened our doors. So scary and disappointing.”

A picture shared to social media showed broken glass on the ground, and a boarded up glass panel within the rollup door entrance to its retail storefront.

In response to an inquiry from Fraser Valley Today, Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener says police responded to a report of a break and enter at a business on Young Road at 2:44 a.m. Thursday morning.

Upon attendance they observed damage to the business and the suspect was no longer on scene,” Corporal Kiener said. “Police determined that nothing of value was taken from the business. The Integrated Police Dog Services attended the area and was able to locate items of evidence nearby that will assist to further this investigation. The Chilliwack RMCP are working in partnership with the Lower Mainland Integrated Forensic Identification Services to further this investigation.”

The bakery appears to have opened in late December 2025, according to its Facebook page. It announced on Dec. 29 that it had opened its doors to the public. It sells charcuterie gift boxes, fruit platters, sliders, sandwiches, lasagna, savoury goods, birthday cakes and an assortment of pastries.

Fraser Valley Today has reached out to the business for more information on the incident.

The break and enter comes just days after SinAmen Bun Co. at 8810 Young Road had its safe stolen, surveillance cameras broken, and front and side glass windshields shattered, sometime between Sunday night, January 11 and Monday morning, January 12.

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener told Fraser Valley Today the Chilliwack RCMP detachment is working with the RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Section to further that investigation.
