Police in Hope confirm driver not at fault in accident that sent E-scooter rider to hospital
HOPE – A spokesperson for the Hope RCMP detachment says the driver of a vehicle involved in a collision with an E-scooter rider last week was not responsible for the motor vehicle incident.
A youth riding an electric scooter was transported to hospital after a collision with a vehicle Tuesday morning, May 19 on Beacon Road in Hope, RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener said.
The child sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
“The investigation determined that the driver of the vehicle was not at fault,” Cpl. Kiener said. “This incident highlights the risks associated with e-scooter use and serves as a reminder for the public to remain vigilant when operating or sharing the roadway with E-Scooters.”
