HOPE — The Hope Fire Department has responded to an incident involving a natural gas line Thursday afternoon, December 18.
Eight firefighters and three apparatus were paged out to the 65000 block of Kawkawa Lake Road, where initial reports said an excavator had struck the line.
A property maintenance crew then began excavating after observing bubbles rising through the asphalt, which could indicate a leak from a utility line.
Nearby residents received shelter-in-place orders, while FortisBC located and isolated the damaged line.
