ABBOTSFORD — Mounties say four individuals were taken into custody last month following an illegal border crossing from the United States into Canada.
According to a statement from B.C. RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Tammy Lobb, the illegal border crossing happened on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 when three individuals fled on foot as they were being pursued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and unlawfully crossed into Canada between Northwoods Road in Lynden, Washington and 0 Avenue in Abbotsford, B.C.
The three individuals as well as the driver were arrested and turned over to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) for further investigation and processing under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).
Investigations are ongoing and no further details will be released at this time, Sgt. Lobb said.
“This incident highlights the ongoing cooperation between Canadian and U.S. agencies in responding to unlawful cross-border activity,” Sgt. Lobb said.
