According to a statement from police, Surrey Police Service officers responded to a report of shots fired outside a residential complex in the 100 block of 175A Street Thursday night, Oct. 8, at about 6:51 p.m.

Police say two suspects, described as men wearing dark clothing, allegedly fled on foot. It is unknown if they are connected to any vehicles.

Surrey Police Service says the suspects were not located despite police containing and searching the area with the help of the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service.

Police say there is currently no indication at this early stage that the incident is extortion-related, but it is believed that this was a targeted incident.
