Hundreds wake up without power east of Mission after car strikes pole, closes Hwy. 7 for a few hours
DEWDNEY – Hundreds of BC Hydro customers woke up to no power this morning after a vehicle struck a utility pole near Dewdney, resulting in the temporary closure of Highway 7 east of Mission overnight.
BC Hydro’s online dashboard revealed that 651 customers lost power at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday night due to a motor vehicle incident. Crews are on site as of 6:40 a.m. this morning to try to fix the outage.
DriveBC reported that Highway 7 was closed in both directions due to a vehicle incident involving hydro lines just east of Nicomen Island Trunk Road.
