Police respond to possible drowning of teenage girl at Cultus Lake

CHILLIWACK — Police are responding to the possible drowning of a missing teenage girl at Cultus Lake Saturday (Aug. 8).

Witnesses on scene reported that a 13-year-old girl was floating on a paddleboard when she was believed to have had a seizure and fell off.

Chilliwack RCMP say the youth was not wearing a life jacket and is believed to have fallen into the water.

Officers, Chilliwack Fire, BCEHS and Chilliwack Search-and-Rescue remained on scene as of 4:30 p.m. to locate and recover the missing youth.
