Abbotsford-Mission saw a slight uptick in violent crime last year at 95.5 (+0.5 YOY), but is still lower than its 2023 figure of 107.6. The census metropolitan area also saw a four per cent increase in crime rates at 6,717 per 100,000 people.

The province has also touted its lowest level of crime severity in years at 92.4, a decrease of 12 per cent from 2023.

“This didn’t happen by accident,” said Public Safety Minister Nina Krieger. “It’s the result of sustained partnerships and investments in enforcement and intervention by our government, First Nations and local governments, police services, community organizations and businesses that are working together to build a safer province.”

Extortion (-7%) and child sexual abuse (-21%) dropped across B.C. in 2025. Homicides (+10%), robbery (+5%) and trafficking drugs other than cannabis (+38%) all went up year-over-year.

“While these results are encouraging, we know there is more to do and we’re building on this work with new tools to target repeat offenders, organized crime and other serious issues our province is facing.”
