CHILLIWACK — New data from Statistics Canada says while Chilliwack still tops the rest of the country in crime numbers, the region saw a drop in violent crime overall last year.
Police reported 11,352 crimes per 100,000 people in Chilliwack through 2025, up 3 per cent from the previous year.
Crime severity, however, is down for the second year in a row, as the area saw a rate of 134.3, down 21.9 from 2023.
