MISSION – BC Hydro will offer free admission and guided tours for one day at its visitor centre in Mission as part of Dam Discovery Day this week.

On its website, BC Hydro says families, travellers and road-trippers alike are welcome to discover a unique side of B.C. this summer as part of the Discovery Day event on Thursday, July 16.

Visitors can explore how clean hydroelectricity powers British Columbia by way of interactive exhibits, guided tours and hands-on experiences.

For one day only, admission will be free at the Powerhouse at Stave Falls in Mission.

For reference, regular admission is $8 for adults and $7 for youth and seniors, allowing a family of four with two children to save up to $30 by visiting on Dam Discovery Day.

Visitors can also take advantage of the complimentary guided tours throughout the day. With the help of their knowledgeable staff, the tours offer a behind-the-scenes look at BC Hydro’s generating facilities, the engineering behind hydroelectric dams and the critical role clean electricity plays in powering homes, businesses and communities across British Columbia.

The Powerhouse at Stave Falls is located at 31338 Dewdney Trunk Road in Mission.
