Update #1: As of 7:06 p.m., BC Hydro spokesperson Kevin Aquino says crews are currently en route.

“We’ve received reports of branches/trees coming into contact with power lines due to the wind. Once our crews arrive, they’ll be able to determine how long repairs will take and restoration times,” Aquino told Fraser Valley Today in an email.

Multiple people are reporting on social media that a downed tree on Chilliwack Lake Road is the likely cause of the outage.
