CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack is gearing up for a summer in full swing, rock, Latin folk and more at the heart of the city, in Central Community Park and District 1881, this August.

The Chilliwack Mural Festival and free annual Street Party are coming back with live music and concessions, along with 10 new murals to be painted this year.

“Featuring artists from across the region, the popular Mural Cube, graffiti wall, and exciting new elements like Josh Conrad’s immersive installation, there’s truly something for everyone,” said Lise Oakley, executive director of the Chilliwack Community Arts Council.

“We can’t wait to welcome the community for a vibrant weekend of free entertainment and creativity in the heart of Downtown Chilliwack.”

The lineup of musicians includes Leo D.E. Johnson, Blackberry Wood, and Chopping Spree! performing on the Sasquatch Stage, and the Street Party will also showcase the live painting of a Mural Cube in Central Community Park by Jacqueline Stuerzl, Taka Sudo, Madam Radical, and Surnoor Singh.

Attendees can also view a 40-foot community graffiti wall, LEGO block printing and an immersive installation by local artist Josh Conrad.

The festivals run from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 14, and from 2 to 9 p.m. the next day.

Following the festival, there will also be a 19+ late-night concert at Red Chillies Sports Bar from 9 p.m. to midnight that Saturday.
