Abbotsford residents invited to Canada Day community event

ABBOTSFORD — The City of Abbotsford has a packed day planned to celebrate the nation’s birthday this year.

“This year’s Canada Day theme, Roots & Rhythm , celebrates the heartbeat of our community — where deep cultural roots meet the shared rhythms that bring us together,” said the City.

Festivities begin at 11 a.m. with the annual Canada Day parade along South Fraser Way, followed by the official ceremony at 2 p.m. in Exhibition Park, where attendees can later enjoy a “wide variety” of attractions and activities such as hayrides, slides and inflatables.

The Main Stage will also feature cultural performances throughout the afternoon and live music in the evening, with this year’s BC Country Music Award winner JoJo Mason headlining at 9 p.m.
