New restaurant opening this week in downtown Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK – A Chilliwack restaurant offering ramen noodles, chicken karage, Korean fave bibimbap and other soup dishes is set to open this week in downtown Chilliwack.

Ramen House, located in District 1881 along Yale Road, will open to the public this Thursday, according to a social media post dated Sunday, Jan. 25 from the Downtown Chilliwack Business Improvement Association.

The restaurant has not yet posted its menu to Instagram or Facebook, but its social media feed features Asian offerings like miso soup, tempura, and crispy noodles, and a vegetarian menu.

It will also offer seasoned BBQ pork bowls, spicy ramen and rich, creamy Tonkotsu ramen.

One of its heartiest offerings is bibimbap, the Korean staple, which features a fried egg, bean sprouts, cabbage, spinach, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, and steamed rice, among other ingredients.

Ramen House is one of three new restaurants set to open in Chilliwack this year.

In addition to Ramen House, a new Vietnamese pho restaurant at 6640 Vedder Road in Sardis has an orange building permit sticker affixed to the exterior of its retail storefront, close to the Little Beetle cafe. There is no estimated timeline for the opening of this pho restaurant.

The third restaurant that could open this year in Chilliwack is Saboos, an eatery offering pulled pork sandwiches, BBQ beef brisket sandwiches, tacos, pizza and more at 111-7491 Vedder Road.

Three signs affixed to the exterior of Saboos advertise certain grand opening specials. For example, a pulled pork sandwich featuring freshly cut coleslaw, lettuce and signature chipotle sauce is advertised as $10.99 plus tax for a limited time. Another sign lists two tacos for $6.99, featuring your choice of beef, chicken, pork, fish or veggie mixed with fresh fiery roasted marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese and freshly cut premium local toppings. The third sign features a sandwich containing slow-smoked, premium AAA beef brisket between two ciabatta buns, topped with arugula, and your choice of chipotle or creamy roasted garlic sauce for $12.99.
