No injuries after Greendale barn fire Thursday evening

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack crews have tackled a large barn fire that sparked in Greendale yesterday evening (Jan. 22).

At around 5:30 p.m., firefighters from Halls 1, 3, 4 and 6 with the Chilliwack Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire in the 42000 block area of South Sumas Road.

They discovered heavy smoke and fire coming from a large barn in the property’s rear.

Firefighters contained and put out the blaze before it could damage nearby exposures.
