Abbotsford youth invited to join 6th annual Christmas Card Contest

ABBOTSFORD — With Santa’s Workshop pulling overtime for this coming holiday season, Abbotsford is inviting its young students to help spread Christmas cheer with the sixth annual Mayor’s Christmas Card Contest.

Kids from kindergarten through grade five are encouraged to submit a drawing that showcases Abbotsford’s holiday traditions or what the season means to them.

Mayor Ross Siemens will select the winning design to appear on the official 2025 Mayor’s Christmas card, distributed virtually across the province. The artist will also receive a prize package, and all participants will receive a signed card from the mayor.

“Seeing the creativity of Abbotsford children and their excitement for Christmas, is one of my favourite ways to get into the holiday spirit,” said Siemens.

“Whether it’s snowmen, colourful lights, cozy family moments or Santa and his reindeer, every year I’m impressed with the imagination and joy that our students share. I’m looking forward to seeing this year’s entries and sharing them with the community.”

Last year, the City received over 1000 entries from 28 schools across Abbotsford.

Interested participants are asked to email a PDF of their artwork, along with their name, grade, school, and teacher’s name, to mayorsoffice@abbotsford.ca by November 27.
