Authorities seize deer, firearms in two-day enforcement blitz near Boston Bar

BOSTON BAR — A two-day enforcement initiative near Boston Bar aimed at checking B.C. hunters for compliance has resulted in four deer and two firearms being seized and over two dozen warning and violation tickets being issued.

According to a statement from the B.C. Conservation Officer Service, RCMP and Fisheries and Oceans Canada personnel, federal wildlife officers and B.C. COS personnel collaborated to check more than 250 hunters and inspect over 200 firearms over a two-day period near Boston Bar – despite cold and rainy conditions.

Conservation officers say 26 enforcement actions were taken, including warning and violation tickets, and four deer and two firearms were seized.

“Our presence on the highways reinforces our commitment to protecting natural resources. Thank you to our law enforcement partners,” B.C. COS said.
